Success
Fleece outfits & blankets
In conjunction with several civic groups, PtC arranged a large purchase
of high quality fleece material from Malden Mills. Using a pattern,
the local boy scout troop cut-out over 300 top and bottom outfits
for infants. Members of a women’s group each sewed 10 outfits.
A second purchase of almost 700 yards of material arrived later
and was cut into sections for the orphanages to use as blankets
or swaddling material as needed.
PtC arranged special shipping in order for the outfits and blankets
to arrive before the cold season started.
Quilting
project
One of the orphanages PtC supports is a home for mentally disabled
girls. While they have challenges, the orphanage has taught these
girls many skills, one of which is needlepoint and sewing.
PtC arranged to have fabric, batting and thread delivered to this
orphanage. The girls used this to sew 150 hand-made quilts. These
beautiful quilts are now being used by these girls and are proudly
displayed on their beds. |
